- replace the xp logo in my comuter propeties
- 1. the windows xp logo is controlled by the file c:\windows\system32\sysdm.cpl. we will need to edit this first, for which we need a tool called resourse hacker.

- 2. backup the file before proceeding
- 3. start resourse hcker and open "c:windows\system32\sysdm.cpl" .
- 4. expand the "bitmap" folder then expnd the one folder there , and click on "1033."
you will see the windows xp logo in the right pne.
- 5. go to action >save [bitmap: 1:1003] and save the bitmap image. do not close resourse hacker.
- 6. open the sved imge using any editor and note its size. now create an image of your choice of the same size and save it.
- 7.now in resourse hacker, replace the image with the edited image. save it from file>save as , in any location except c:\windows\system32\sysdm.cpl, with the name "sysdm.cpl" .
- 8. restart your computer
in dos mode and copy your edited "sysdm.cpl" file to the c:\windows\system32 directory. say "yes" when asked to overwrite the existing file.
- 9. restart your computer and note the result.
- 10. to get your old logo back just replace the c:\windows\system32\sysdm.cpl file under dos mode with the original "sysdm.cpl" you backed up earlier.
