HOW TO HIDE THE DRIVES (TWO METHODS)

 

 

• This is a great trick you can play on your friends. To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer.
• First trick :-

        1.Go to start->run.Type regedit.Now go to:

   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
   Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer

  Now in the right pane create a new DWORD
  item and name it NoDrives(it is case sensitive).
  Now modify it's value and set it to
  3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal) .Now restart your computer.
  So, now when you click on My Computer, no drives
  will be shown(all gone...). To enable display of
 drives in My Computer, simply delete this DWORD
 item that you created.Again restart your computer.
 You can now see all the drives again

• 2nd trick

This trick is applicable 4 all drives except "C" which contains O.S.

1. Go to Start > Run > diskmgmt.msc

2. Right click on that drive whose u want to hide

3. Change drive letter & paths

4. Now click on remove & yes to confirm

thats all

Open my computer & then see what happend.............!

To show that drive again :-

1. Go to Start > Run > diskmgmt.msc

2. Right click on that hidden drive whose u want to show

3. Change drive letter & paths

4. now click on add & select the word which u want to show

5. finaly click on ok.

Now u r able to see that drive again......
